Chagatai

One of the Khanates of the Mongol Empire.  It was in the Turkish territories in Central Asia including modern day Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. It existed as a whole 1225–1340. Chagatai was one of Genghis’ sons.  It allowed religious freedom.  It was important because the silk roads went through it. Alghu was the grandson of Genghis Khan who ruled it
